Good places to eat in Acharavi

Post by Daniel » Wed Jun 17, 2009 1:32 am

I thought it useful to others if we share which dining places in Acharavi we appreciate, and why. Please add the ones YOU like!
It's all a matter of taste, of course, we shouldn't conclude that places not yet mentioned are not worth visiting. It just means they haven't been described here yet. And as per the forum rules, please don't vent complaints here.

I will start this off with these two.

Monolithi - uphill on the road that passes the school
Friendly host, pleasant atmosphere, nicely decorated, regular live keyboard player, and greek food that is a little more exquise. A bit exclusive, make reservations. Prices a bit higher than elsewhere.

La Fattoria - coming from Kassiopi just past the roundabout, on the left.
Italian, with big stone pizza oven inside, where they also freshly bake the complimentary bread that is served with aioli. I particularly like the mushroom starters, and the scallopina with gorgonzola sauce. The pizza's are big, and they also do takaways. Very friendly staff and quite reasonable prices.

In addition to the above regarding the Monolithi. The taverna/restaurant was once an olive mill, and has authentic Greek architecture. It sits up on a hill above Acharavi and the views are something to see. With good food and wine you cannot go wrong. The Monolithi runs a local mini-bus service so you do not have to think about the car, which is the only way to access this little piece paradice.

IL FATTORIA - ACHARAVI for more information have a further look at the link. This link has been placed in the Acharavi Links section.

Thank you Daniel for the information above. Keep it coming please.

One of our favourites is the Pumphouse but always busy, also like the newish one opposite think it is the Odysseus or something like that. Yanis next to the Panda bar was always good value for money only 40 days and we will be back

Hi,

I like to eat at Woody's on the beach and Odysseus opposite the Pumphouse is excellent, the prices in both places are very reasonable with very good portions. :comp:

Thanks,
